JKU Amp PowerStep

Great product, definitely recommend for lifted JKU’s. Much easier for passengers to get in the back. Had to do a small amount of fabrication, nothing too difficult if you take your time. Once you figure out one side, the other side goes on smoothly. Took almost 8hrs to install, or pay $700 (4hrs) at a local shop.

I had been contemplating this purchase for about two years, but wouldn't pull the trigger due to the price. I searched for other non - electric running boards and just didn't like the look of most. Finally, I splurged. It's only been a month, but so far they are working great. The extended step is about 11-12 inches off the ground. In person they do appear bulkier than they do in the stock photos, but from a distance look like they are a part of the truck body. I'm in a rural area so I asked my local mechanic if he could install them. He did and charged me $360 ($120/hour). They were expensive, but I'm glad I finally made the purchase.

AMP E-Boards OK

I had a set of Bestop boards for the last ten years, installed myself Due to parts wearing out and costs of the parts and discontinuation of the Bestop boards, just purchased the AMP E-Boards. Installation of the AMP boards was more difficult than the Bestop. The AMP board does not come out as far as the old boards. AMP board are noisy compared to th Bestop.

Side steps that work

I love these steps! I'm 5'3, so between the lift that came in it and the lift were added I had to jump into my Bronco before these steps. I highly recommend! If I ever get another vehicle that needs steps added, then I'm definitely getting these. My husband installed them himself in an afternoon. He had all the tools needed, but definitely check before starting the project that you have everything.

Best option - Power Bronco Running Boards

A very solid power running board. Yes, it's on the $$$ side but worth it, in my opinion. Since my wife is 5'2" and she uses this as her daily driver, it was a challenge getting into this Bronco with the OEM tube running boards. Now, she loves getting easily into our Bronco. Trick Trucks completed install in 3.5hrs. The 3-way switch should be included for this price...I just separately ordered and will let you know when I install.

These power steps are amazing. They drop down about 4 inches lower than the equipped running boards, allowing for an easier step up as I'm an amputee. Love these!

Amp Research Powerstep Running Boards

The box arrived open and without instructions. I had to rely solely on the video on the website which isn’t too bad except for when it came time to wire the door switches. Each door switch only has 1 wire so the red taps into the front driver’s side switch and the other goes to the back door switch wire. Same on the other side. I was hung up on this because I was looking for two wires at each switch. A schematic could have easily cleared this up but like I said before I had no instructions. Also the motors for the steps were somewhat difficult to get mounted because the gear was fighting the mounting hole bracket of the steps.. Once the circuit is energized for the first time everything lines up as it should but initially it’s a pain to mount the motors. The packaging could use some work but so far the product works as advertised and looks good doing so. Install can go as fact as you want but I did my best to make it look factory and weatherproofed every connection potentially exposed water and heat. Takes about 3-4 hours if you’re extremely careful, have all the tools and nothing goes wrong.
