Worth every penny!

Took 2-3 hours for me in my garage as I had to use a dremel to cut the tabs on the ball clamp and the awkward positioning made it take a little while longer than I anticipated. The sound is perfect. Its loud enough that you can hear it when you get on it but quiet enough to still have conversation in the car. It also is quiet enough that it will definitely not irritate the neighbors! 100% would recommend and buy again if you do not want something too quiet but not ATAK level loud.

Superb Axle-Back. Borla delivering excellence!

Had this beautiful black chrome Borla s-type axle-back system installed on my 2021 Mustang. The previous exhaust installed by the prior owner had installed a non-active muffler which muffled the sound and didn't showcase the roaring v8 exhaust note we all respect and ove. The shop installd it fairly quickly and driving it off the lot, I was pure smiles. The cold start has a very quick bark upon starting her up (I always have Quiet Start activated), however the inner pipes' valves quickly close creating a much appreciated muted idle in my garage for those early mornings or late evenings. The black chrome is stunning and the rear appearance looks TOUGH! The track mode is nice and loud with a nice trumpet-esque roar (it's not annoyingly raspy and the sound profile will varie based on your mid-pipes and headers' mod). Normal mode is perfect and tame at cruising speeds (below 2500 rpms) and absolutely zero drone at any speed.

My ONLY knock isn't on the quality, but that they didn't come with their own clips. I absolutely love the way these sound on my 2014 GT. A tad louder than I thought they'd be, but they look great and sound great. Couldn't be happier with the purchase. I just hope I don't get any tickets for noise.

Borla S-type Axle Back

I installed Borla S-Type Axle back Exhaust on my 06 Mustang GT. They are, or should be an easy install. Drivers side muffler went on without issue. Passenger side was a was a terrible fit. Installation would have taken about an hour in the Driveway if it weren't for the poor fit. I ended up taking the car to a custom exhaust shop where they cut off the mount brackets and rewelded them in the right place. The Tips look Good and fill up the cut outs in the bumper nicely. In a car with an automatic trans there is a fair amount of drone in the car at certain speeds. The drone improved after driving the car for a coupe weeks. I myself wouldn't purchase these again.

Borla Type S

Borla axle back S Type exhaust is exceeding my expectations. Listened to many videos and websites, but nothing compares to the real deal. It sounds completely awesome! Has that muscle car rumble plus the popping and grumbling when you let off the gas….love it! Was also surprised to the boost in “gritty up”! So much better than the stock “suitcase” muffler! Leaving the door open for some Kooks headers down the road. I did use the install option with American Muscle and I was very pleased with install and how they took care of my car. Not to mention saved about 30% in install cost versus taking it somewhere on my own. All in all I am very satisfied with purchase and install!

Whippled 2019

Just put these on. It’s got a bark to it at first start up, but mellows out a little bit after it idles down. EASY install, took less than an hour from start to finish. It will take some getting used to coming from factory, but it was a needed change. I’m running Kooks headers, H pipe, and these axle backs. At idle it sounds great, wot it does have some bite to it.

Very Happy

I was very happy with the quality and sound of the Borla S type axle backs. It took about 3 hours to change them over from the stock mufflers. The sound was much better than stock. The install was good, getting the old ones off was a bit challenging. Fitting up the new was a breeze

Loud and good

Is you want a loud exhaust you have to get this axle back. Very good-looking tips and good sound. The only point to be aware of is the sound in the cabin, is loud if you delete the resonator.
