Firestone Air Bags

The Firestone air bag kit works great. I have a 2003 dode ram 1500 5.7 hemi, and I haul a lot of hay, and livestock, the air bags make that a whole lot easier on my truck, and the installation was easy. Great product!

installed on a 2008 dodge ram 1500 4.7l, currently towing a 4500# Travel trailer and a 720# motorcycle in the bed and sits level with only 50-75psi

Installing these air bags would be a snap except--------the rubber bumpers are removed from the frame above the axle. The upper bracket for the air bags is bolted into the two bolt holes that held the rubber bumpers on. Unfortunately there is NO WAY to lube these two bolts prior to removal. Can you guess what happens when you attempt to remove them? Right, they snap off, dam. Five hours later and many a drill bit and easy out later they are out. Thankfully only one side broke off.

Great product but my first shot at using these is a mixed review. I read the instructions 3 full times before beginning and sounded easy enough. Eventually I got the semi rusted bolts on my truck loose and things went well enough with the installation. I would suggest jacking up the back of your truck for space, I tried for several hours laying under my truck to do it without and it is a fools errand. Don't believe the hype for the little insulation sleeves to protect the air hoses...

The appearance for the bags are great, the installation of the air bags was easy, the only thing i have a concern with is the bolts, they look to thin and dont look like they will hold up only time will tell 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab

Excellent for removing sag and soft suspension when towing or hauling. I carry a 1000 pound camper and tow a 3000 pound boat with no problem after installing these bags. Truck rides level and suspension remains firm at 50 psi. Consider fitment if you have an aftermarket exhaust system. Mine was close with a Gibson.

How easy the install was.

I a person with no mechanical at all with little tools. I bought the lift because I have a Sled Bed on top of my truck that holds to snowmobiles and it needed a little lift to bring down the headlights. The lift was east to install. The only problem i had was removing the bold on the truck that holds on the bottom out bumper. It twisted of so when installing the lift i only used on bumper bolt and had a guy put a spot of weld on the lift and frame. Works great and easy. i am thinking about putting on for a buddy and charging him a 100 for the install. took me 2 hours.
