      Description

      The K&N 69-7070TP Typhoon cold-air intake system is a free-flowing, mandrel-bent aluminum tube air induction system designed to fit some Nissan 300Z 3.5 Liter V6 models. The restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing are replaced by the K&N Typhoon cold-air intake which is designed to pull in relatively cooler air and dramatically reduce air flow restriction by smoothing and straightening air flow. This allows your engine to inhale a larger amount of denser air than the factory air intake. More air means more usable power and acceleration throughout the engine's RPM range. The 69-7070TP cold-air intake consists of a roto-molded plastic intake scoop that mounts behind the 350Z's front fascia directing cooler outside air through free-flowing aluminum tubing into the K&N carbon fiber topped air box. Inside the air box is a black rubber topped K&N high-flow air filter connecting to a mandrel-bent, 3" aluminum induction tube that delivers high volumes of clean, colder air into the engine's throttle body for a guaranteed power gain. The intake tubes have an attractive silver powder-coat finish that's made to last. The cold-air intake system accommodates the factory mass air sensor and crank case vent hose. The oversized cone shaped air filter can be used for up to 100,000 miles before servicing is needed depending on driving conditions. The tools needed for installation are a screwdriver, pliers, ratchet set and several wrenches. Some Typhoon air intakes are not legal for sale or use in California and other states adopting California emission standards while others are CARB exempt and 50 state legal. Check the K&N catalog or website for vehicle applications and specific CARB status for each vehicle and air intake.

      Sweet

      It come very fast, in a day or two. It gave a much better throttle response. For my 2006 350z, the low end seemed much better. I have K&N on all three of my cars

      Must do mod for you 350Z !!!

      I LOVE this mod! I had been very happy w my Z before the K&N but, I was driving a Mustang GT before the Z and I did miss the growl. The K&N gets it done. Best part is in normal driving there is only a slightly deeper exhaust note; no full time drone like the Mustang. But when you put your right foot into it HOLY S*&T does this thing roar! Noticeable boost in top end power as well. Installation was +-2hrs. Instructions were excellent w useful pictures of each step. Looks great too.

      Received it the very next day, installed it, had minor complications lining everything up but over all a easy install, and get an extra 2mpg out of it, definitely recommend it!

      350Z typhoon review by Mike M

      Not my first K&N intake. Bought one for my 94 Miata and was pleased with the performance improvement. So, I ordered the 69 series for my 2005 350Z. I was surprised by how quickly it shipped. I had it in 3 days. I had it professionally installed due to lack of a lift or jack stands. definite improvement in performance.

      Its sure has increased my performance, I seen some increase in mileage, but haven't taken it on a long trip yet.. hopefully for the holidays.. The true test.. :)

      K&N 69 Series for 03 Z

      Great value! Didn't really notice too much of a difference below 3k RPM. I guess you have to be heavy on the gas peddle to get the most out of it. Maybe I'm just getting old....

      A real upgrade that works

      I have had this K&N 69 Series installed in my 350z for a couple of weeks now. For my car it improved the power and I can feel it. This air intake system also sounds very good. Not to loud or crazy just a nice healthy quite purr that gets a little louder when throttling. Just what I wanted and I think you would like it too.

      Not complaining

      I Installed the intake along with a recommended performance chip so obviously with any performance increase I might sense, there is no way to differenciate which application is making the greater contribution. Of course, the K&N intake makes a sweet (conviencing) sound. So as not to succomb to the powers of wishful thinking, I must opt for more observation time.
