    Description

This replacement die cast aluminum valve cover pair fits 72-81 CJ5, 72-75 CJ6, 76-81 CJ7, 81 CJ8 Scrambler and 72-91 SJ models equipped with 5.0, 5.9 and 6.6 liter engines. Features rugged die cast aluminum construction with polished finish, cast ribs and 'Omix' logo. Kit includes a pair of valve covers, cork gaskets and hardware. Replaces 6910

    Valve covers are used to seal off an engine's valves and prevent any dirt from getting into the engine. Valve covers are also designed to seal the engnine and prevent oil from leaking out of the top end.

    Wrong hardware terrible gasket

    The valve cover is ok a bit different than the stock yj cover but it works. You will need different passenger side hardware to make it work. Couldn’t get the gasket to not leak.

    DOES NOT FIT!!!

    Really frustrated that I missed another review saying the same. This does NOT fit on a 1989 YJ with a 4.2. The instructions in the box say it only fits early 80’s cherokees. The bolt holes are off by about half the width of the bolt to fit. It is also a good 2 inches taller so it may have clearance issues but didn’t get that far since I couldn’t bolt t down.

    Nice!

    Really nice valve cover! Much better than the stock plastic junk. With a small amount of modification this val ve cover should last the life of my Jeep.

    Item it's very nice looking on the engine , unfortunely don'n sit well and is harx to seal I still trying to figured out to find a solution

    Nowhere close to an oem part

    This part is made out of plastic it comes with a poorly glued on styrofoam gasket and has a different size oil cap hole. Do not install this part unless you want to have worse issues down the line this could actually cause harm to your engine causing a fatal oil leak or better yet melting into your valve train

    Will not fit 87 and newer YJ

    Despite what extreme terrains discripstion shows this does not fit 87 and newer, surprisingly enough it's on the first page of the instructions provided. If I had an 86 or older 4.2 I would definitely purchase its is a nice looking cover. That being said I am still waiting on extreme terrains to send me a return label.
