      Description

      Lightweight Performance Upgrade. The Driveshaft Shop Automatic / 6-Speed Conversion R160 Rear provides a one-piece driveshaft designed to replace the factory two-piece unit in Subaru Impreza WRX models with 6-speed transmission conversions. This upgrade significantly reduces weight, enhancing vehicle responsiveness and drivetrain efficiency by eliminating hanger bearing movement during acceleration.

      Construction and Appearance. Made from 6061-T6 aluminum, the shaft has a sturdy three-inch diameter that balances strength with reduced weight. It includes larger, greaseable, and replaceable U-joints built to withstand up to approximately 650 wheel horsepower and speeds of 155 mph. The shaft features a raw aluminum finish that emphasizes function and durability.

      Installation. Installation involves removing the factory two-piece driveshaft and fitting this direct replacement shaft. No drilling or extensive modifications are required, allowing straightforward installation on compatible Subaru transmissions and rear differentials paired with the 6-speed conversion.

      Warranty. The driveshaft includes a one-year warranty covering manufacturing defects, excluding issues caused by mount failures or maintenance problems that may result in drivetrain contact or misalignment.

      Application. Engineered for 2002 to 2007 Subaru Impreza WRX models, including WRX TR and WRX Limited variants, equipped with automatic or 6-speed transmissions using the R160 rear differential. Users are advised to regularly inspect mounts and bushings, as failures in these components can lead to drive shaft damage not covered under warranty.
